I have a 95 cherokee. Lately I have having to start it in nuetral and five minutes later it will start in park makes me think its the nuetral safety switch. Today it wouldn't do anything . Turn the key and the headlights won't even dim but the radio will turn off when I try starting it. Any ideas will help. Thank

 

check your crank position sensor.

 

Would that cause it to start only in nuetral. Right now it won't Crank over at all.

 

fuses? check the easy stuff first

 

Try wiggling the shifter in park. It happens to me with my jeep just got to find a sweet spot where it will start. If that don't work then I would shift it in to nuetral and slowly push up untill it starts cranking I'm almost positive its your neutral safety switch, just like mine.

 

I tried that already I got the starter to click and then it stopped and Hasn't worked since. I used to able to wiggle it then it would work. Wher are the nuetral safety switches located.
