95 with HOWLING A/C
First off, let me start by giving some history on my jeep.
95 Cherokee Country, 195,000 miles.
Bought it in June last year, replaced all spark plugs and wires
Put a brand new engine/radiator in it August of last year
Put a brand new alternator Jan. this year
Brand new starter last month
Brand new battery last month
Recharged A/C last sunday
Since I've had it, it's always made this slight howling noise that lasted about 3 seconds when you first turn it on(not every time, but 95% of the time). We charged the a/c this last weekend, and now the howling noise has gotten worse, louder, and lasts longer. It doesn't matter if I turn the jeep on with the a/c on or off, it does it on "max, norm, and bi-level", but not on vent. I need to fix it, since it's 104 degrees here!! Any ideas what it could be?? Anybody ever dealt with this before??

it's got to be the bearings. I'm guessing the the compressor oil was never re-added when the system was recharged over the years like it was supposed to be.
Looks like you'll be buying a new compressor soon...
And I wouldn't wait very long - when those bearings decide to freeze up on you you'll be screwed on the side of the road for many many hours unable to drive. Ask me how I know.
