Recently had a ball joint replaced and now I notice that I get wheel vibration from that side only at 65 mph. Could this be caused my alignment problem? I didnt have the alignment done. Also, when the ball joint was replaced, the mechanic insisted that the u joint in the front axle was bad. He replaced it. I don't believe it because the u joint was replaced 2 years ago. If the new u joint was bad, wouldn't it vibrate at all speeds?

Any reason why you only replaced the one ball joint on that side? I always replace both of them as if one fails, the other is not likely far behind.

The mechanic said that the other one was ok. Took his word for it.
Also forgot to mention that my tires were recently balanced, but they are 4 years old and 70,000 miles. The still have plenty of tread but I'm wondering if they are breaking down inside causing the vibration.

The front shocks are original. This Jeep has been on the road for close to 18 years. I'm sure that the front shocks are worn, but would I get vibration only at high speeds? It's almost like a whoble. The Jeep has never had a front end alingment either.

if your alignment is far enough out it could have caused a belt in your tire to slip. It isn't always easy to see the damage on the tire while its on the vehicle but once it's off if it is a slipped belt you will see a "bubble" on the tread that goes about halfway around the tire.

try switching the setup of your tires or rotate the spare in and see if it makes a difference then you'll know if its the tires, it worked on my xj
