Oh yeah PDC, duh
I'm going to go check that out right now.
Checked the part umer for the TJ, no go. It's a 5 speed besides so it would be different even if it was the same year.
Called a parts dept for the stealership in next town. theydon't have a CPS in stock but another stealer 1/2 hour away does so I might take a spin down there with my multimeter and check out their CPS, if it's a different reading than the 2 new ones I have then I'll buy it, bugger cost $40 more than the other two I bought at NAPA and Advance so i only want to do that if I'm sure tat's the problem.

All right, fusible link checks out fine. Figured out my CPS is fine (both of the new ones I bought, oh well from what I read a spare will be handy one day) Now I have a whole bunch of "No Start" trouble shooting printouts from Alldata. I have a little more to do but it's starting to lean twoards a bad ECU. That seem likely to anyone else? Far as I can tell there's nothing wrong with the wires going from the CPS harness and the ones coing from the Cam sensor/stator under the distributore to the ECU.
Maybe something got damaged durig the jump start after the Alt failure and the other times trying to start it with some bad ignition parts?

Picked up a replacement ECU from the salvage yard and she fired right up
Between the bad Alt and other faulty ignition componets I replaced and a couple bad grounds I fixed the ECU must have got fried.
Thanks for all the help in trouble shooting and diagnosing.
Must say, this is one of the best jeep forums I've come across in a while
