Question 94 xj for $2000??

Hi all,

I found a white '94 4 door with the 4.0, 153,000 miles. Nevada plates, !!no rust!! and just very very clean and well taken care of. Spent most of its life as a run-a-round behind an rv. CD player with ipod jack, and brand new steel roof rack. full towing package set up, along with front rv towing set up. Brand new BFG AT's... look like about a 29, stuffed under there.

$2000

Fair? Whaddaya think?

My beloved, if problematic, '85 2 door, 2.8l jeep was totaled on my way back from college for xmas break. ***hole was going to fast in the rain and hydroplaned into me at 60mph, I was doing 45ish... ripped off the front wheel, bent that rim, pulled that tire off, broke the axle at the differential, and my whole drivetrain is hanging about 8" lower, resting on the smashed rim. The drivers corner of the car is pretty much gone...I'll throw up some crushed pics of mine tomorrow.

The jeep had brand new 31" duratracs on it, and there was a 4.5" rough country lift kit sitting on my doorstep waiting for me, along with the Solid Diff. covers I was waiting to install

I need another car, and of course it has to be a jeep.

From what you are describing I would have no problems with it,you are buying it as transportation not an investment and it sounds like it is in good condition.

Yah, It's mostly for transport right now... at least until I'm done driving 650+ miles to college a couple times a year. Though the 4.5" lift is going in as soon as I get another jeep. It seemed like a really fair price to me.

What do you mean not as an investment...is there something specifically wrong with this model / year?

What i mean is you are buying it as transportation, there is nothing wrong with that year. If you were buying it to make money off it then price would carry more weight, but you want good dependable transportation and it sounds like it is worth the price.

Oh, good. Thank you. Its right up the road so it seemed perfect, I was worried there was something intrinsically wrong with it.

Sounds like a good vehicle, the price is a little bit on the steep side though. I wouldn't pay more than $1200-$1500 for an XJ that old. Considering I got my 91 for $500 :P

Default 94 XJ

Having looked around for a nice, clean, low miles XJ for about 2 yrs -- the
price seems good to me. Is it a 4X4 or 2WD ??? If it is 4X4 , run and get it right now !!!!! If it is 2WD you can walk a little slower ..........

I looked at about 20 XJ's over the past 2 yrs and most of the time found
them to be from back East where the potential for rust is higher.
I wanted a CA or Arizona XJ and finally found one up in LA.
It also was towed behind an RV and basically had no sheet metal blemish
or serious issues.

Just for piece of mind, I should have looked for a 99 XJ; but that was before I got on these "Jeep Talk" forums.

GO GET IT !!!!!!!!! Randy from Oceanside
