94 HO transmission

are there any differences between a 88 renix era transmission and a 94 HO transmission? just that i will be installing a 94 trans and was wondering if they changed internally or whatnot

I want to say that you would be cool but if I remember correctly sometime in the mid 90s the spline count changed from 21 to 23.
