My 94 xj has a shifter issue. I had thought it might be an adjustment and fixed? When the engine is running, and you put the selector in park, the trans makes the same noise as if you put it in park while at a slight roll. (grrrrrr)! It also seems to hang up coming from park to reverse, also, should it lock in reverse, if you hit the shift lever with your hand it will fall out of reverse and into neutral without using the engage button on the shift handle! If anyone can give me a link on adjusting it or a illustration, id appreciate it !

Thanks for the reply, the shifter can actually go bad?? I bought my 94 xj in sept 2010, it was missing an engine and basically every harness connecter that attached to the engine. For some reason, there was a large cable that attached to the left side of the trans with two bolts, so i reattached them, nothing else was disconnected. Im guessn ill have to make another trip to the yard tomorrow, I did manage to score an aftermarket header (pretty nice one) for 45 bucks off a 98 today, not sure what brand, but hey, no cracks!!!!! What is a fair price for a shifter????
