I have a 93 XJ with the 4.0 in it. It won't run unless I dump a little gas down the throttle body. It's throwing the OBD code of 12 and 54 that tells me it's the cam position sensor but I've replaced it I've tested it and it's just not I don't know what else to do with it here's what I've replaced so far:

replace the cam position sensor
replaced the crank position sensor
replaced the flywheel
replace the map sensor

and the things I've tested are:

I checked the cam make sure it hasn't slipped
I've checked fuel pressure I have fuel at the rail


so at this point I'm at a loss I don't know what this Gremlin is and I don't know how to find it if anybody has any advice for me I would appreciate it otherwise it's going to be a Jeep on the scrapheap

I replaced the TPS with a working unit a friend had. Still no dice.
Would a faulty TPS somehow generate a cam position sensor code? Ive replaced the CPS aswell and its still throwing that code.

 

If ive read this correctly, you have spark. You dont have fuel. Check your tps voltage. If its above 80% throttle angle the ecu will not pulse the injectors.

 

tps is ok. It stopped throwing the bad cps code. Found a hole in the gas tank... But now I have no teach. Would a bad cps cause a teach failure?

 

Its running... Kinda heres s short vid at idle if I give it gas at all it back fires and quits
