what exactly is wrong with your current motor?
if i were you i would find an exact match for replacement to help avoid any computer related problems you may have.

once again, you need to find an exact match to avoid computer problems.
and also again, i believe the 90 is a carb and the 93 is FI. or was it 95 when they switched? i cant remember.

ok my motor is the 4.0 6cy and the one i want to put in is a 93 h.O motor and it does indeed have a differnt wire set up. but my main thing thant I cant come up with on my own is if the blocks havent changed from those years. becasue all of the other parts in the motor are good ie the intake/exhaust manifold, throttle body, all the sensors, as long as there is not more holes and ports on the newer motor for sensors and stuff that the old moror doesnt have. and some one asked whats wrong with this motor.
it has smoke that escapes out the vavle cover vent, the vent that is suppost to go to the airbox for recerculation. but is disconnected becasue it also has a slight oil spray @ highway speeds or higher rpm but no smoke from exhaust. witch is weird i figiurde it was blow by but i dont know. it also has a lot of oil gung build up inside the motor witch is bad. i took the valve cover off to see why oild was misting out like i said and scraped enough gunk out of the inside of valve cover to fill a soda can real nasty. so i figure the rest of the motor like inside of the crack case will also have this build up do to neglect of the previouse owner. thnaks again u guys scotty
