I have a 1989 Cherokee with the AW4 NP242 that is starting to slip. I bought a 92 or 93 AW4 with NP231 that I was told it was a good trans. My jeep has the power comfort switch. I believe the Cherokee the other trans came out of did not have this switch. My questions is watch need to be done to use the newer trans? or am I better off rebuilding my current trans.

 

I put a 95 in my 89. Just put it in and go. The switch just controls the computer.

 

So I can use the 89 computer or would I have to get a different computer?
