Default 92 XJ Mystery

I’ve got a ‘92 XJ with a no crank/no start, starter solenoid doesn’t even click. I’ve had the starter tested and it is good. Cleaned battery terminals and checked starter relay and fuse in PDC. Replaced ignition switch. Also checked starter ground to block and that’s good too. Have also tried bypassing NSS with no luck. Also just put a new computer on but do not think the computer has anything to do with the no crank issue as it started before I replaced it. Any ideas would really help.

When you turn the key, can you see the signal (test light) from the ignition key telling the started solenoid to engage?

- Do you have an alarm / immobilizer on the Jeep?
- Load test the battery?

Not sure what you mean by signal? But there’s no alarm and I’m not sure it’s a load issue on the battery but getting it tested couldn’t hurt either.

Have you checked to see what the starter relay is getting? Does it have 12v supply, and does it get the 12v signal when you turn the key? Is the ground supply to it okay? You'd check these in the socket with the relay pulled out.

Default Update:

Checked the starter relay across 85 and 86 pins and was getting 6 volts so I took battery to Oreilly where they charged and tested and battery came back with a bad cell. Bought a new battery and after a blown ignition fuse in the PDC being replaced it started right up. Thanks for the input guys, never would’ve thought to go back to the battery, was working under the assumption that it was good this whole time.
