92 cherokee 87 tranny?

92 cherokee 87 tranny?
Just put an 87 automatic tranny in my 92 cherokee laredo. New transmission lines. She'll fire up but won't move, every thing hooked up fine, no inconsistinces between the two trannys. Although to start it, I have to pull it out of park....what's the problem? Linkage I'm guessing, I really can't afford to take it to a mechanic....what would you suggest? One of my friends believes the transfer case my still be locked in 4wheel drive...
