92 4.0 moter spins no catch
I went out this morning for a fire call,tryd to start my jeep and nothing the moter turns over but wont catch or fire. the fuel pump comes on so Im getting fuel but nothing oh and the truck smells like starting fluid when I got in this am,I dont use starting fliud. Help please Im trying to get the lift finished

Try checking the CPS usually unplugging and replugging it back up with get ya going.
There is a pick on this link even though yours is not Renix basic CPS properties apply for all of the XJ's

Ok Im game someone told me pull my distributer I coulda sheard a pin on but Im not one to pullin that but cps sound easy enough any other ideas if this dont work

replaced cps on my 1996 Jeep Cherokee for no start problem help problem. unplug and reconnected cps Jeep started with old cps.

Why would it smell like starting fluid. Are you the only person that has access to this Jeep.
CPS connector is usually the problem I wouldn't have replace the CPS until checking the connector first.
The next thing after CPS would be the Distributor. But can get expensive throwing parts at it.

ok update what I replaced was not the cps I replaced a trans sensor of sorts not sure wich one so Im confused all I know is cps sensor is like 100 bucks

Just unplug it and plug it back in.
No need to replace it the connector is known for getting degraded over time.
