Default 91 xj wheel question

hey guys picked up a set of 5 on 4.5 wheels for my xj assuming they would fit with no luck. the store sold them to me sayin they were for my xj. Well when i tried to put them on the lug holes in the wheel are about a 1/4 inch to wide. so what gives do the xjs have 2 different lug patterns?

All of the XJs have 5 on 4.5 lug pattern. I would take them back to the store and make them double check the part number.

Are the wheels you just purchased stock or aftermarket?
