Default 91 xj no start issue

Went to crank it and turned the key forward and nothing related to the ignition works. No radio, clock, nothing but lights work

Checked relays and could turn everything with a jumper wire. Fan, fuel pump, starter

Pulled the plug from ecu and cleaned it and reinstalled. It fixed it. Jeep sat for a week and it went back to same problem

Battery was tested. It's fine. Replaced the ignition switch and ecu and cps. Still no power.

What else should I be looking for? If you turn the key to ON nothing comes on but if you turn the key all the way forward, it tries turns over but no start cause there's no fuel or spark.

Is there a way to test the ecu? Or just bypass it and run the ignition and fuel on a switch? It's a trail rig only, gets trailered everywhere.

My 91 did the same thing. I cleaned all battery connections and grounds I could reach from the top and it worked for a day or two. Then I used a volt meter and tested power to the small starter wire at the starter connection and had power there. The corrosion and where oil from filter changes had leaked there caused a bad connection. After cleaning the wire ends and starter it was good to go. Any give that a shot.

Id remove switch and manually activate ....power should be present b4 key goes into start position.

I not having a problem with the starter. It turns over fine. The problem is none of the accessories turn on with the key so it doesn't start.

Sorry I mis understood. When the issue I had started.. as I turned the key I didn't get anything either. Like when it hit accessory, no fuel pump, no gauges, no buzzer. But I also had no starter, no click of starter or anything.

Would it have anything to do with the key? I saw some people would replace their key/ignition but I don't know why that would affect the electrical part of the ignition

Alright well here's the update. Took all the fuses and relays out from the box under the hood. Sprayed all the contacts with wire dryer, wiped down all the contacts of the fuses....didn't change a thing. I left the door open and the key in the ON position so I could hear the door buzzer if anything changed. Well then I took a lil jumper wire and jumped all the relays and could turn them on individually. Then I pulled the 15 amp fuse for the ignition and ran the jump wire from the battery to the fuse and low and behold it worked, turned everything on and I was able to crank it up. So I'm just gonna run a wire from the fuse and a wire from the battery and hook it up to a switch and mount it on the dash.

you should find a diagram of all the stuff that fuse powers, jumping wires like that can be dangerous. fuses are circuit protection, remove that and then the next protection is the wires itself, fuses never pop for no reason, they do not get old. you have a short to ground somewhere. your best bet would be to track that down.
