I have a 91 xj and i had a problem a while back with it not cranking and the security light flashing and all i had to do was go and unlock the passenger door and tonight I hooked my 2 15s and amp up not unplugging anything besides the battery and taking the radio out to plug in the rca cables and remote wire and when i get finished up and go to start the jeep i plug the battery in and hear something clicking inside the jeep and i thought it was the security thing seing that the battery was unplugged but the lights were not flashing or anything and then i go to crank it and it did just like it did when the security light was flashing it starts and shuts right back off.

is the alarm aftermarket? if so find where it is tied in with the Ignition switch and bypass it.

no it is just the stock system. The other day i was changing my positive terminal end and the security light would flash and the security light would come on inside the vehicle when it would come in contact with the battery, and i would have to unlock the door with the key and last night the security thing didnt go off when i hooked the battery back up.

is there anyway to just bypass or unhook the security problem all together???

HAve you tried to do what you did before with unlocking the passenger door?

1. Unlock ALL (including rear hatch) your doors with your KEY.
2. Unhook battery and touch leads together to run out any extra juice.
3. Hook battery back up.
4. Lock all your doors with your KEY.
5. Unlock all doors with your KEY.
6. If you have a KEY Fob, use it now to lock the doors and unlock the doors.
7. Attempt to start the vehicle. If you get no where with this, then most likely you need to bypass your security system for the vehicle to start.

You may also have a battery "going" bad, have it tested at Advance Auto or Autozone to verify.
