91 cherokee with select trac what axle
Is the axle the same on a 91 cherokee for command trac and select trac? I have a 91 cherokee with select trac, but it has an axle with the vacuum motor. The guy I bought it from said he changed it. The NP242 has no vacuum lines. What do I do.

Yes you can pull the actuator and remove the fork. You will need to put a new seal in or the oil will run out. Replace the passenger side axle with a one piece axle and you will then not need the vacuum lines. I have that same task ahead of me for my MJ. That is why I have done the research. I am still looking for a D30 non-disco axle with a high pinion and would prefer it if I can find one in my budget range.
the guy changed the front axle. There is a vacuum disconnect axle in the front now, and my transfer case has no vacuum lines going to it. Its select trac, so my question, was the factory axle on my jeep different than what I have now? Was a different axle used in jeeps with select trac?

You can get it out from the actuator opening. Pull the cover on the gear housing and the c clip and you can use the actuator opening to remove it.
