91 Cherokee dome light dont shut off.
Ok so the dome lights on my jeep dont shut off after shut off the jeep. Once the jeep is running the dome lights shut off. While its running i opened each door and the dome lights came on and off properly. So i would think the door switches seem ok. Any thought into this problem?

I checked all that. I got to thinking of things that i did in the last few days fixing things. I had no dash light no brake light no hazards and no flashers. So i ended up replacing the headlight swith, turn signal switch, the flashers. after all that i had dash lights. got to looking around again and found a 20 amp fuse in the engine compartment labeled engine management #2 blown so i replaced it. had all my lights working again. weird. I found a relay missing under the dash so i put one in. So i went out and pulled the relay and it solved my dome light issue. My dome light still work and come one when i open the doors. They now shut off after turning off the vehicle.
Are you sure it's the correct relay? Also, it might have been missing because the PO yanked it in frustration over the misbehaving dome light, LOL. I suspect a short somewhere (duh.) The question is---where? Back track the wiring from the dome light through the harness. Somewhere, somehow, the dome light circuit is getting energized.
