90 XJ Steering column help
I got 2 jeeps and I'm going to try and get them going. My 2 door has a loose steering column. You can hold the steering wheel in your hand and you can wiggle it around. Are their anything that might be loose or maybe a bushing that needs to be replaced? etc? Thanks.

There are 3 bolts behind the steering wheel. Mine did that so we brought it to tires plus and it cost $160. But I don't recommend them. TBH, a GM dealership would probably be able to do it since it's a GM part. That is if you want to bring it in.

I can tear the column apart if theres something I can tighten. I was just thinking that their might be some bushings or something like that wore out. I will tear the column apart this weekend and see if I can see anything loose. Thanks.

Yeah, there's just 4 bolts in there. I've got the same issue, but I'm just going to get a whole new column out of the junkyard, I can swap columns a lot quicker than tearing it apart and fixing it. And a whole new column will only cost $40 at the junkyard.

I just called the local yard and they don't have any columns. Looks like I will have to be tearing the column down and trying to fix it.
