Default 90 cherokee Laredo rear end vibration

My "90 Laredo has a vibration that starts around 35 mph in the rear end. Where should I start looking. When I'm rolling, I can hear some noise maybe a bearing or something rubbing.

You can start by checking the u-joints, wheel bearings also start looking around and see if everything else is tight. Check you tires too. I had one of my rear tire with a little bubble starting and it would start making a vibration once I hit around 40mph.

Not the tires and the U joints look good. I've never messed with wheel bearing. How do you get to them?

U joints can "look" good and be worn out inside.

If you get any deeper than that, take it to a shop that specializes in gears and bearings and have them do a diagnosis.

You will be money and time ahead.

"So can repair shops". I haven't had transmission problems before and don't really have a reference for a trustworthy shop. guess I'll have to take a chance.

Why would you go to a trans shop for diff work? Most places have shops that only do diffs. You can always call places like randys ring & pinion and ask them what shops in your area do a lot of parts volume.

Unfortunately they don't. I had a trans guy that I new in Corpus Christi that was great at working on transmissions. But , he told me that he has now idea on how to work on a diff.

We have a Country Town Tire & Service Center that supposedly specializes in it, so i guess I'll give them a shot. Anybody know what kind of pricing I'm looking at?
