Default 89 starts but won't stay running

I've been having issues with my 1989 Cherokee overheating when towing my boat. I rewired my electric fan with a manual switch through a relay and also a misting system for the radiator using the pump from the washer reservoir.

Now it will start but not stay running.
I'm concerned I blew up something messing around with the wiring.
An archive search yeilding a suggestion that the fuel pump relay will cause this. I did tap into a hot wire going to a relay by the washer thing, is that the fuel pump relay? Might I blew a fuse on it or something?

I'm hope something just got wet and tomorrow when its dry again, it will work, but I know that isn't going to happen, I'm sure I frigged something up...just not sure what.

thanks, so that wouldn't be an issue.

well I tried it again this morning with any water evaporated by now,
and the same thing, it starts up and then dies.
and we were supposed to take the boat out today.
I gotta get this fixed before our vacation aug 8..

Default ballast resistor for fuel pump

ok, so for the next guy, my problem was the ballast resistor for the fuel pump. it gets bypassed when the engine starts, so it will start, but won't run after that if the resistor is not connected. it got disconnected with my fussing about. problem solved, vacation on schedule. but we did borrow a Tahoe today to tow the boat. those are sweet, pulled the boat without a sweat, unlike the Jeep, the 4.0 sweats pulling the boat up a grade, but heck at 180k miles and still running strong, think I may keep it another 5 years.
