89 no spark and no idea

changed to a known good dizzy no help there either.i took out the ecu gonna go pull my parts jeeps brain and swap em.the parts jeep doesnt have electric windows or locks like my limited does will the ecu still run the motor ok??

Ya the ecu is just for the motor. I could put power windows and locks I'm my manual windows and locks if I wanted

YES.... it was the ecu and here is the deal.they have numbers on the face.the one on the white and yellow sticker on the bottom right corner is the part number the 90's # googled said they are compatible with 35 models.i have a 89 and a 90.both the same jeep besides 89 is limited. the ecu from the 89 wouldnt shoot spark.so i swapped em and the 90 ecu would just make it back fire.Your ecu needs to be outta the same yr jeep for some reason they are timed different from what i can tell.105 dollars later i have the right ecu in the 89 and she runs like a champ.thanks for all the help i got from you guys in the this mess of parts and sputtering jeeps

You just got a bum one. I've swapped ECUs between years with no issue.

its not a bum one because i drive the jeep its from everyday with that ecu still in it.just drove it to the store haha.there are very few xjs and mjs with this ecu in them.the new one i bought is the same model that works with 35 others.and it wouldnt run my 90. very interesting but iam just happy i have both my jeeps running again
