89 jeep cherokee starting probs!!
It's that damned 4.0L V6. Most unreliable engine. Ever.
Is there something about the app that's preventing new users from seeing the OEM Cherokee Tech forum or preventing them from seeing that Cherokee Chat is specifically a non-tech forum?

Hard starts. You mean long crank time before it starts? Runs good or bad once it starts?

Long crank time is normal for a renix. Ecu waits for signal to the cps or something like that. Im sure cruiser knows

I believe the ECU has to see 4 (or was it 5) complete revolutions of the flywheel/flexplate before initiating spark. That data comes from the CPS. Cruiser can correct me if I'm mistaken. That said, a more detailed description of "long crank" will be needed. From personal experience, 2-3 seconds of cranking is not unusual for an '89 XJ.
