Default 89 jeep cherokee front axle leaking what is the seal called

im trying to fix a front axle leak I have gear oil leaking and dripping down the drivers side tire however I cant seem to find anyone at the parts store who knows what part I need to replace .

some places mention a wheel seal. ive been told there is 3 seals no one seems to know for sure what one it is.

one place shows a front differential seal which looks more like a rubber gasket that goes on the front end cover which is not it.

don't want to buy the wrong seal.

ive seen something called a bearing/seal kit which shows for like 100 bucks but I don't need all that stuff and still don't know if that kit has the right seal in it

Nothing leaks out unless sitting then I see a small amount on the inner side of the tire I can drive around a month and not have to add hardly any

any ideas as to what most part stores call it

The one that keeps the lubricant in the axle on the driver's side?

no there inner not really axle tube seals but your supposed to replace em both ??? right. my dad plans to pull out the axles 2 piece we have and replace all of them but its more then likely one certain one from what where seeing the outer ones just hold back oil that leaked.

You wouldent happen to know exactly which seal we need to replace what they call it at the parts store???

ya im down about a half inch every month in oil dripps on inner side of tire puddles on the bottom of the axle at the front of it.
