89 Cherokee no spark
I have an 89 Cherokee pioneer with an inline 6 and it won't start. It turns over but just won't start. There's no spark and plenty of fuel going to the engine, the fuel filter was just replaced. It started happening after the back was left open and the light drained down the batter. I charged it but still no spark. Just had the cps replaced a few months back. Any suggestions?

Test the CPS. Sometimes replacement parts fail again.
See Cruiser tips on the how too. Multi meter set on AC Volts, insert probes and crank.
If you get good readings you should have spark.
So next check your ignition. On your 89 do you get power from the coil?
This is an opportunity to get your lazy brother in law to stop raiding your beer fridge and do something productive.
Have your brother in law hold the wire while you crank. If he strarts bouncing around and cussin, your coil is ok. If he just stands there lookin stupid, he is, and you need to correct the coil problem.
So if he does yelp, look at your coil wire to the ignition cap, your rotor, and distributor internally.

Thank you for the advice! Gonna check this out tomorrow after work.
A side note: I've been following this site for a very long time. I've had the Jeep for about 15 years and have recently started bringing her back to complete stock. I will upload a photo of her tomorrow
