I have seen alot of threads about similar problems and tried a few things already, to no avail. We'll start with the problem.

When I turn my headlights on i get parking lights but no headlights. The left blinker comes on with no particular pattern or timing like something is shorting somewhere. When I hold the dimmer/blinker/wiper lever back the lights work on bright but only if I hold it the whole time. Multi-function switch?

Heres what I've done checked under dash and didn't see any loose connections. Replaced the dimmer switch. When I replaced the switch the plug was melted into the switch, I figured it was a short on the switch side. I was able to get it plugged into a new switch and it didn't fix the problem. I'll probly try to replace the plug next. Any other suggestions? Has anyone else had this problem?

tried replacing the bulbs, has to be in the wiring somewhere i guess because of the blinker coming on too
