Okay guys... So i have a 88' Wagoneer XJ. This models components are virtually the same as the 88' Cherokee XJ. I bought this Wagoneer about a month ago thinking it just needed a new alternator and a tune up...... When i Bought it it ran but the battery wouldnt hold a charge. Replaced the alternator it ran for 1 day. Next day went to go to Auto zone and only made it about a quarter of a mile before it started sputtering then died. then it started 3 more time after letting it sit for a while. But would only run for about 3-5 seconds. I am getting no spark at all.I have replace the ignition coil, CPS, Spark plugs, and the alternator. I do have fuel at the rail. and my fuel pump does kick on after turning the key. It cranks and cranks and cranks but will not fire! PLEASE HELP!!!
Thank you very much.

I dont have a fuel pressure gauge... My Manual is not very clear about the injector pulse. How can i check that? I am about to go check the distributor right now.

No carbon tracks or cracks on the cap on the terminals inside the cap there is a tiny amount of black chalky stuff that was on my finger after i rubed the terminal. does this mean its charred? Aslo there is a weird thick brown liquid sitting at the bottom of the distibutor. could this be the problem?
