If only you had the experience I've had with CAD instead of just your own, you would understand.
Why keep trying to encourage others to polish their turd when doing so could very well leave them stranded somewhere in the future? The system stunk when new and hasn't aged well.
lmfao hahahahahahah you crack me up cruiser.Originally Posted by cruiser54

lol yeah, she really is awesome. been married a little over a year, together 4 years already, and she is great. i bought this beast to keep from taking my 3/4 ton gmc to the ranch all the time. she knows whats going on. expecting our first kid in october.
but yeah, in the mean time, its driving me nuts. on this thread though, i will be doing what you said and get rid of my possibility to get stranded. I'm just dealing with the problems on my other thread you have been commenting on.

I do admit some turds can never be polished! I happen to like the disco in both my 84 and Brown 90 working as designed. My White 90 with a 242...it came with a "rebuilt" transfer case. (funny the others are fine), and I have yet to sort out why that 242 is all jacked up. I think Chrysler wanted to save $ when they bought Jeep, is why it was eliminated.

We still love you though.

The transfer case isn't all jacked up because of the front axle!!Originally Posted by DFlintstone

If that were the case, every XJ from mid 91 on would have the same issue...

The 242 never had the disconnect to start with, right ?

True or false. A bunch of stuff in the transfer case is spinning 1/2 speed at most, or not at all with a 231, with the diso disengaged? (not to mention the front drive-line and the differential), It spin's full speed, all the time with a solid/connected axle.Originally Posted by cruiser54

True or false. Most of us are usually in 2 WD, and don't need that stuff needlessly wearing.
True or false. If the dash light is off with a disco, could you be in 4WD, and trash the Transfer case because you thought it was in 2WD?
I'm very sure of the answers. What say you Pete?
(pardon us CF. It's the mix, that makes the world go around!)

JEEP DIDN'T CAN THE DISCO, CHRYSLER DID!

Not everything Chrysler did was wrong.
They even tried the disco on the Ram 4wds for a while.
So, a front output bearing is gonna wear out in the transfer case before the rear one does?
The front drive shaft u-joints are gonna also with no load on them?
