Default 88 MJ interior lights

Been trying to figure out why my interior lights do not turn on when the drivers side opens. But the passenger side door will only turn on the passenger b pillar light when it is flipped up. Drivers turns on either way it is flipped. Anyone know how the interior lights work on the mjs.

3 positions.
1 they turn on when the door opens, 1 they don't turn on at all, and 1 they turn on without the door open.

ok I got just my passenger side light to come on but only when the passenger opens. Drivers light turns on in both positions with door open and closed. Is there a refreshment that can be done to the interior lights?

If you're lucky and the plastic fastening clips don't snap off. Pretty simple design inside actually as far as electrical.

Unfortunately both lights already have the clips busted off. Can a refreshment be done to the door switches also ?

Clean them up with sandpaper so they make good contact. They're pretty simple.
