Start by getting it up on a hoist and performing a comprehensive inspection of all front end and steering parts. When was last alignment?

dude, my 88 was HORRIBLE when i got it. I had to replace the ENTIRE steering set-up after getting it. I had no idea how the guy drove it an hour and a half to my house. Jack up the front end and see if there is play in the tires side to side to see if there are ball joint issues.

Then, if there is no play, just replace your tie-rods. all of them. not that expensive, and they are probably old anyway. I'd say it cost me about 350 to redo everything after the pitman arm with parts from advanced, so even that is not a horrible price. Just note that an alignment is needed after replacing tie-rod ends or anything steering wise. And make sure you straigten your wheels and steering wheel when hooking eveything back together or you will have a ****-eyed steering wheel. lol.

Good luck, man. my 88 was a mess. I hope yours isn't that bad.

My bad. lol. Yeah, i just redid the whole steering set-up less than a month ago, it really took like 2-3 hours starting with me not having a clue, and reading stuff here. It was a good time. So yeah, let us know if you have any ideas or pics of what could be the problem. Good luck.
