First post here mates, had a question on my Jeep I just got...

I can shift just find into 4WD Hi and Lo, but when I try and put it back into 2WD, it just stays in 4WD Lo according to the light indicating so on the left hand side of the dashboard column.

Any ideas as to why?

If it's just the light that says part time then it's your vacuum disconnect still has a vacuum in the line. It's under your pressure bottle. Mine doesn't work anymore cuz I put in 97+ axle shafts in my 88

It could just be an electrical problem...

^x2 but it could be the vacuum line also...

Have you actually verified it is still in 4WD?

Yes, the light is on saying "part time" even when I put it into 2WD. How would I verify that it's still in 4WD?

This is my first Jeep I've owned so I know nothing!

Make a sharp turn in 2wd and if it feels normal then your in 2wd if it feels hard and the tires chirp then your in 4wd

U could also put the whole jeep on jack stands...

At least to lift the tires and then you'll be able to see better...

It's hard to do dounuts in the snow in 4WD. Find a snowy parking lot and have at it, if anyone complains, tell 'em I told you so.....
