88 Cherokee OEM Interior Color
OK to start off thanks for having me here. Helping my son out with his 88 XJ i just bought for him as his first car. He is just getting ready to turn 15 and this is a project for us to work on together.
to start off with he is wanting to keep the original interior in it which is looks like a mix of brown tan and a little orange. is there a place that i can find out what this color is so that when we are looking for interior panels, seats etc. we are getting the right color this is the color here not his Xj
but it is the color that we are trying to find out.

I want to say the code should be found on the sticker on the driver's side door?
Also... there should be a Jeep web addy where you can type in your vin and get a complete factory build sheet emailed to you. Not sure if it goes back to 88, or if they still do it even. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that.

First thing, so you can fend for yourself, is go here:
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/research-249236/
Read it.
So going through my '88 parts catalog it looks like the color is technically called Tan.
Also looks like an '87 and '88 thing.
To see for yourself after you download the parts catalogs go to page 1100 and 1101
In the '88 to '90 parts catalog.
I used item # 21 in the illustration. The handle in the roof to determine this.
Gotta tell you though the orange is making me wonder how accurate this is.
