87 XJ No start. .29v to the pump no spark
*This is my friends XJ that needs help. I want it out of my yard*
*this has happen before. but he doesnt no how he fixed it*
He shut off his Jeep at the gas station to get gas. went to start it and all it would do is cranked. towed it to my house and this is where we are at.
-cranks all day
-no spark
-0.29v to fuel pump(something wrong)
-no fuel pressure(^^thats why^^)
-no relays click on when turning the key
-replaced CPS
-CPS has 215 Ohms
-Fuses on Driver side box are good
-wires under dash connecting to computer *look* good
DISCLAIMER: He wheels a lot and isnt nice to his Jeep. It has been through water, but not up to the computer (as far as I know) the wiring under the hood looks lie a birds nest.
If there is a solved thread about this same problem I apologize for Resurrecting a dead thread. I did search multiple times.
what could this be and where should we start. I assume the comp. is fried. But we all know what assuming does...

sounds like a ground problem with the voltage to the pump like that. check your grounds on the back of the head and by the oil dipstick, clean/repair as needed

Im leaning towards the ground issue or even an issue in the ignition switch itself. I will check the grounds.
