87' Failed emissions
Ran the ol' Jeep through the emissions station today. Passed everything but the pressure test. In AZ they block off the canister line and pressurize the rest of the system through the fill neck.
I haven't had a chance to really look into it, but are there any things that are "typical", or to look at first? I've only had it about a year, and haven't really had a chance to do to much crawling around it.

I'm impressed!!!
Nothing typical that I know of.
Except the hose on the carbon canister that gets all soggy and crumbled to pieces!!!
Could you duplicate the test yourself?

They do that here too. If it is a small leak, check the breather hoses, canister hoses and look for signs of fuel leak on the fill hoses

The lines around the canister look original, so those will probably get swapped out.
My buddy, who I actually got the Jeep from, has access to an emissions testing smoke machine. I'll probably try to hook it up to that first.

My only other thought are the two roll-over valves on the top side of the tank.
On a side note, I am considering Arizona as a state I'd like to retire too. I wasn't aware they test older vehicles for emissions. Is it state wide, or by county? California used to only test certain counties when I lived there. Massachusetts tests everywhere; however, pre-OBD gasoline engine-equipped vehicles are exempt if the vehicle has passenger plates.

By county, and city in that county. Metro Phoenix (Maricopa), and Tucson (Pima) mostly. Anything newer than '67.
There are ways around it on older stuff, like registering and insuring as a "collector" car.
