85 XJ 2.8 v6 won't start
I just bought an 85 XJ with the 2.8 v6 lifted on 5.5" on 34-10.50 tsls
for $600 but it won't start. I'm thinking it's a vacuum leak cause
some of the hoses going to the carb are unhooked. Any help would
be greatly appreciated or if there is anybody in the Portland
or Clackamas area that would want help me with it that would
be great to.

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
Check for spark and fuel. Spray some starting fluid into the carb and crank the engine over, if it sputters and tries to start it means you have spark. If nothing happens it means you have no spark. There is an ignition module in the distributor on the 2.8 that always seem to go bad and will cause a no spark issue.
