No, the later generation doors will not work. Different hinge and body line.

body line should be the same.... and you should be able to swap out the hinges - main difference will be the location of the latch

check out JP Magazine's door swap http://www.jpmagazine.com/techarticl...e/viewall.html

took '97 xj doors and swapped them onto a '92 MJ... I'm seriously considering doing this because I'd like to have a full front window... didn't care at first, but when you have a really long arm, having to reach out of the window at drive-throughs and ATM's are slightly irritating.

You didnt have to go to JP Mag. Huntingman did his on his comanche pretty recently.

He changed the entire front clip, relocated the latch assembly, etc...

Its not just a straight swap. Big difference.

read jp's.... just changed the doors body lines are exactly the same. Just swap your old hinges on to new door and relocate the striker on the body - according to JP, you should use the striker from the new doors, so make sure you grab that...

pics of JP's swap...

only thing really different, design wise, is the stamping on the inside of the door's frame

Either way, not a straight swap.

But if he's cutting them up anyway. I guess it doesn't much matter.

With enough finesse one could make Lambo doors work.
