I am getting a free 85 xj this friday.
I am planning on a motor swap. I just can't decide on what motor a 3.4 or a 3.8? My plans for this xj is a lift for 35" tires, dana 44 f/r or dana 60, ax15 or a sm420 tranny with np231. The trails are gonna be newb friendly at first and work from there and up to serurious trails.

 

are you considering a 4.0? i don't know much about the other ones... i just pulled a 4.0 to swap in my 85xj... i hope you do a build thread cause ill be checkin it out. thats cool youre getting it for free

 

I am sticking with a 3.4 or a 3.8. I got the jeep from my wifes uncle. I will do a build thread on her. As soon as I can figure out everything. The build is gonna be slow. Using it as a DD for school.

 

Ok I got my jeep this last friday. My wifes uncle and me are gonna try a 4.3l instead.
We got almost everything figured out except for the engine wire harness. I want to use the stock 4.3 harness. Does any one have schematics or anything that will help with the wiring.
