Hi guys,
I've got a question. I'd appreciate if somebody with '96 model could take a look at it and let me know how it is on yours.
Mine is '96 xj sport, 4x4, auto, I6/4.0.
My question is about vapor canister connection.
I am looking at my canister and I see one of the fittings is just "left open". Please see the picture attached.
Could you please take a look at yours and let me know how it is on yours. Do you have a cap there or is it the same as I have ????
Or does it even matter?
I have Haynes manual and don't see there any specific description for 96. There's only general description of fuel evaporative control there and a "typical" diagram.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think that's an actual opening. If you pull the hoses off the other two, I believe they are longer and open on the inside. I've got one like like that on my lid, and it's not open. Stick a screwdriver or something in there and check. If it is open though, I would plug it up.

I could not stick a cut/bent wire into it, it also has a "cross-X"-sort of thing in there (so I thought that maybe it's a sort of "special" opening there. It's hard to see, as it is facing the wall ..grhhhhhhhhhhhh.Thanks, guys for your input. I just needed to make sure that I am not missing something there.

feel better now -
