What's the max tire size the 8.25 rear end can handle?

How big do you want to go and what kind of use will it see. Safe to say the limit would be 30" in some cituations and 50"+ in others. Re structure your question too, what you want to do and how to get there.

I want it to be a weekend worrior. I was thinking 35" would be plenty of tire. What do u guys normally do with ur Dana 35 front axel? I was wondering what options do I have with swaps.

Under what condition would a 8.25 break with 30" tires... Even if you pin the thing in the rocks and ram the skinny peddle I think it would be fine with 32s doing that.

33s+ is where I'd be concerned driving like that. But if you dont drive like an idiot you could easily run 35s on a 8.25 without issue.

Front is Dana 30, Rear is Chrysler 8.25 OR Dana 35.

Front D30 is plenty strong up to 33s then I'd start carrying shafts. Easy to change anyway.

Rear Dana 35 is a garbage axle and I wouldnt even do basic trails with it on 31s. that being said; I know many people who run 33s and 35s on their Dana 35 for years without issue.

What year 8.25 is it because there are different spline counts, 27 and 29, and the 29 has larger shafts. Also you have a D30 front not a 35.

If its stock then it would have a Dana 30 non-disconnect front axle. For the rear either a Dana 35 c-clip or a Chrysler 8.25" c-clip 27 spline.

If its the stock axle, then it'll be 27 spline.
