4x4 vaccum question
hey guys i have a 90 xj and obviously the vacuum system, i read on some forums on how to make your own (will get there soon) and how to bypass it.
im going to bypass it, one guy took the c clips out moved the fork over and reinstalled the c clip in the "lock" position and put the assemble back in and its technically "engaged"
my question is when i engage the lever and since the fork is already engaged will the 4x4 light turn on. if im not mistaken the light turns on when there is vaccume
new to the vacuum operated 4x4

Light won't work and you don't need it. Look at the shifter.

Yeah it won't work. The light is activated when the Vacuum is engaged at the shift fork. I believe it then sends vacuum to a switch behind the dash to turn on the light.
If you really wanted the light to turn on for some reason it doesnt seem like it would be difficult to reroute the vacuum lines to just the switch.
As for the battery gauge I'm not sure... I have the stupid idiot lights instead of gauges. Does the gauge just sit there and not move at all?
