4x4 lever loose. Can't push it back. 4x4 not engaged
Hi, a few months ago, when winter was starting I tried switching to 4x4 after many months of not using it and the lever was hard to pull. I should probably haven't insisted, but it finally moved but now it's kind of loose and won't go back. And 4x4 is not ON (at least). I had 5 Jeep Cherokees in my life, this is the first time I have this happen. Any idea? Transfer case cable or something else?
Thanks
Thanks

I'd say the linkage may need to be tightened or fixed. Are you sure it's still not actually engaged? Mine does this also and the light on the dash isn't illuminated but it is still engaged. I have to roll to a stop in N then roll back in N then put it in drive for it to "pop" back in place and it's tight to pull again.
