Default 4x4

When ever i put my jeep in 4wd the part time light does not turn on, but i know the 4wd works. any ideas? 1996 jeep cherokee 4.0 sport

231 t-case?

Mine has never turned on either. Although, my part time light used to flash sometimes. I wiggled the plug on top of the t-case and it stopped 8)

The lever position isn't good enough?

What do you think us old guys did when we had hubs to engage and 2 levers with just letters on them?
