4x4 engagement light seems to work half the time with my 98 2 Door. At least I know the bulb isn't burnt out on the cluster. I took off the t-case plastic cover inside but didn't find any kind of wiring for it. I was hoping to find a loose wire. Anyway...I have no idea where to look next??
I wonder if I have to take apart the dash or not....or where else to check.
Don't want to pay $90 per hour to repair something so stupid.

Mine has not worked on my 98 since I bought it. There is a switch on the transfer case under the Jeep. There is a write up here on the forum some place. I didn't even know it had a light till I read it here. I can feel when it is in 4WD, so I never fixed it. Just another light on the dash I don't need- like the low gas and washer fluid lights.

 

Wow....I have a 96 country 4.0 ho auto. Does mine have the 4x4 light? Cuz it don't work if it does. Never has. But like you said you can feel it working. I hate the washer fluid light. It gets to a certain level where when moving around a lot.....say off road....it will flicker. Sometimes on turns and bumps. I didn't know what it was at first. But figured it out. But that's one I would like to remove.
