4wd cluncking when I turn, HELP!
I just had to throw my girl into 4wd this evening cause of light snow fall. When I did and went to turn there was massive clunking and jerking in the front end so I immediately pulled to the side, disengaged 4wd and everything was fine.....except for the fact I was slipping all over the road....
anyone want to help with that?! I know the ujoints in the rear need to be replaced VERY soon but I hate to bring to my mechanic if i don't have to for the 4wd on top of the unjoint expense.
help please!

I used it last year during a heavy snow fall and it worked just fine and saved me a lot of spinning and sliding headaches.
just trying to figure out why its clunking now. I know not to use it all the time on normal roads and when I feel i can go normal I pull over, put in park, and disengage then go on my merry way......

light or heavy is not the issue, its the same "conditions" on the ROADS. I didn't go romping thru the snowy woods last year, it was just the regular roads. The same now. ice/snow mix.

Sounds like the front u joints are shot. Save yourself the trouble and change them yourself (mechanics charge too much). They are easy to do once you get the first and see how they come out. I'm sure there are several write ups or PM me and I will explain how to do it.

sounds like you need some better tires, I made it through the mountains with 3-4" snow and ice in 2wd just fine. I didnt use 4x4 cause i love drifting on those curvy roads
