Default 4cyl drive shaft

can somebody please help me find a 4cyl jeep cherokee front drive shaft i have looked all over and i dont want to spend the money to buy a new one i just want a used one that is in really good condition. so if you know where one is tell me.or any other suggestion that will work for it thanks

it is a 96 jeep cherokee and i am located in lima ohio 45805

I never knew there was a difference for the 4cyl vs the 6cyl. But if there is I will keep my eyes open for one.

thank you and if you can find one that is 26 inches from center of dif u joint to center of the transer case ujoint that should be great even if it is 6 cyl but i just looked at one today and it was 31 it would not collapse enough

I'll go outside and measure the one I pulled from my 87 just to know for sure.

Completely collapsed it is 31 inches.

can you cut it down and fab it up does it have a double cardan u joint

It does have the double cardan joint and I' m sure a driveshaft shop could shorten one. 84-87 with the NP207 had the GKN style, and 87-01 with the NP231/NP242 have the double cardan.

That one is my trail spare, but I can pick one up at the junkyard this wekend for $25 plus shipping. If it is not a desperate need I can try to find one from a 4cyl beacuse I know that all the XJs on the local lot are 6 cyls.

well i def. would like one but if you can find one for a four cyl that would be great i can wait awhile lol
