Default 4 low help

I've got an NP231 in my 92 and thought i had lost 4 low. after doing some good under body cleaning today i decided to try it again. It engages and drives fine with light pressure on the gas but over 10mph it makes a loud clunk and then the truck is in neutral. I need to put the truck back into neutral and put the t case leaver into neutral as then back into 4 low or hi for it to move again. Any ideas on the problem. I know your not going to do highway speeds with it but 10mph is a little slow

There are rods that have an adjuster on them. The adjuster needs to be loosened after the transfer case is in 4Lo and then you can manually get under and finish moving the selector lever on the transfer case the rest of the way into gear (probably less than 1/4") and then re-tighten it.
Try that and you may actually see the indention on the rod that it was in from the factory. That is a good starting place if you have to pull the transfer case in the future for some reason (SYE) or another.

Loosen bolt. Adjust. Tighten.

Great pic Mykal, did you have that on file or what? I searched for one before the above explanation but couldn't find one. Irongrave use Mykal's picture to help explain what I told you to do.
