Default 4.2 question

Ok i have a 84 wagoner it has a 2.8 with a 904 trans i found a 4.2 i was wanting to know if the 4.2 will bolt up to the 904 trans thanks for any info chris

4.2? What is that out of?
I might be wrong but I think it's
mainly a matter of getting the
write bell housing

i was told it was out of a AMC car that was all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive iam not sure but i do know it was out of a AMC

The 4.2 is out of a early yj wrangler and on bolting up to the 904 It depends on the bell housing and if they make a adapter.

Probably better off finding a wrecked XJ and swapping in a 4.0/AW4 and wiring. OR just a newer XJ..
