Default 4:1 Transfer case gears

I have 4:88 gears in my jeep right now and am thinking about 4:1 gears in the transfer case. Who makes them and how much are they?

Tera Low / Tera Mfg makes the 4:1 gears for the NP231 case. I think they still make them for the NP242 case as well --- but your case would have to get shipped to UT for them do so machining.

If you're interested in prices ... give me a shout backchannel.

You could source a t-case from a Ruby, they are 4:1 from the factory. I beleive I read that they will fit, but could be off.....go figure!!

The 241OR case will work well. Just have to modify the rear driveshaft due to length issues and style of driveshaft (no slip yoke on it).

This case is also slightly bigger in girth ... so some mods will have to be made to the belly pan.

Aren't they a little beefier over all than the regular 231?

Over a regular one ... you bet.

By the time you start adding goodies to a 231 .... not so much.
