Default 4.0 reading 80 for oil pressure at 1500 rpm doing in town driving speeds.
At idle it holds steady at 55 but as soon as I get over 1500rpm it ramps up.. is this a sending unit problem or something serious?

More likely than not an oil pressure sending unit issue. Replace with a new one.
