I'm with you there, that cylinder head is plenty heavy on its own, let alone with the manifolds still bolted onto it.

I've got a '97, it's last motor ran for about 5 months with 5 out 6 pistons having missing skirts. still ran great, just burned a TON of oil, about a quart or 2 a day. ultimately, all the broken skirts got ground up and the debris finally clogged the oil pump, which caused oil pressure to drop, which wasted the #4 rod bearing to nothing, which in turn wasted the crankshaft. learned not to procrastinate when it comes to engine repair lol. looks like you caught yours in time.



seems to be a 1997+ problem, sad. an otherwise indestructable engine has been given a weakness.
